Some GREAT Questions about Our Products...here are the answers! :)

Recently,  two questions have come up (several times) about my products. They are GREAT questions and I am GLAD they were asked! I thought I would post them here in case others had the same questions :)

THE BLENDS:
1) Where do your blends come from?
A: Me, Myself, and I. Oh, and a LOT OF Aromatherapy research and study. I make ALL of our blends with the help of mother nature :) I've been working with herbs for over 15 years.

FLAX SEED VS RICE:
2) Do you use rice in your eye pillows and can they be heated?
A: NO I purposely use FLAX SEED not rice. Flax works better in MHO; it smells better, holds up better, and conforms to the face MUCH better than rice.  And YES YES! Our eye pillows can be heated or cooled and used for aches and pains. Our eye pillows are weighted specifically for comfort on the face in addition to blocking out light that can inhibit restful sleep.

Also, I make everything myself (including my labels, cards, and informational inserts); my shop is totally a handmade shop. The designs come from my own head. For example, the bookmark sachets were from a dream I had one night and have easily become one of my best sellers!!! :) :) :) Never know where inspiration will come from.

More questions? Drop me a line! :) ANYTIME! :) XOXOXO

Videos, Updates, and News on this IDES OF MARCH

Hi all! So the Balsam Fir Blocker Video is complete thanks to my wonderful husband Walter :)
He rocks and we really do have a lot of fun together (awwwww...cute :) ). This video proves it that's for sure LOOL! :) Balsam Fir Blocker: The MOVIE
This is the video of all the testing the blocker went before I launched it into the world. I've sold a few and am counting on selling a few more. I just did a custom one for a customer who loves her kitties :)

They rock. We have several (of course) and they work awesome. I made one for our bedroom window that has a nasty draft. Love it.

(PSST....if you WANT one and WANT a coupon for one...here is your code: REPEAT10).

I also have a video taken by Beth Blonski of BBDesigns (http://www.etsy.com/shop/BBDesigns) who recently purchased a kitty toy (Cat Sachet) from me last week. The Cat Sachets are new to my shop and have been SERIOUSLY flying out of the virtual door. I LOVE this video and am super excited that someone took video of one of my products in action. It is cute and funny and so kitty. :)

A quick word about Beth while I am at it! Beth designed my logo and has made many promotional goodies (namely stickers with my logo and info) for me too. She is fast, efficient, and fantastic at what she does. When she created my logo it was really like she read my mind and knew exactly what I wanted even though we only had one or two Etsy convos about it. She cares about her clients and produces a product that is perfect. She has become a good friend and she really works hard and strives for excellence. If you have an Etsy shop or a small business, you should really take a look at what she has to offer. In addition to her Etsy shop she has a website with other great items to choose from. (PS: She is also on Twitter and rocks at that too. FABULOUS at promoting shops and work of artisans. Yes, she's done that for me too!). http://www.bblonskidesigns.com/

AND NOW for some UPDATES
Okay so many of you KNOW that I've been playing around with the idea for a second Etsy shop. WELL, after much research and asking around (especially to the members of the Etsy Maine Team) I think that I will simply add a section to my existing shop and label it "Unscented Home Decor". This way, when craft fair season gets underway full swing, I won't go bonkers trying to juggle two shops, local sales, home shows, UMC shows, taking care of my homestead (we're getting BABY CHICKS SOON!), taking care of my Veronica, and etc. So look for that soon. I'll be making place mats, fabric coasters, and whatever else I can think of that is unscented. I may put some JUST FLAX seed eye pillows in that section too.

NEWS?
WELL, in this part of the Maine woods, the snow is melting and really I am excited. The sun is welcomed and I was actually on my deck enjoying it this afternoon. Am glad to be getting ready for spring.
My BOOK.....Have written a new outline for the novel. :) Did some brainstorming and am continuing onward with my writing :) :) :) That is all I'll say for NOW because if I say too much I will stop writing (superstitious).

IDES OF MARCH??!
Yes, from my favorite Shakespeare play it is the Ides of March or as a student said once to me, "Ms. N? What are the IDEAS of March?" :) Today is March 15th and in Julius Caesar the sSoothsayer warns Julius Caesar (who is too arrogant to listen) "BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH" for that (SPOILER ALERT!!!) is when Caesar is murdered at the Capitol Building.
So, while it is sunny and beautiful out NOW I am keeping an eye on the weather and heeding the Soothsayers warning in a different way....I am bewaring because sometimes March goes out like a LION not a LAMB.

Have a wonderful week everyone. :) My love to the world from the West Woods of Maine.

AND the WINER of the Guess HOW MANY BUTONS CONTEST IS....

First I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who played! THIS has been, by far the BEST contest I think we've had for WSD! I've had a LOT of fun and I can't wait to have another one.
BUT NOW I want to congratulate:
TERI PRONK of West Jordan, Utah!
She is now the proud owner of a beautiful new eye pillow! WOOOOHOOO! ((Happy DANCE)); it was a close run between Teri and Theresa of Faery Moon Creations but the actual NUMBER of BUTTONS was 165! Super impressive Teri! WOW. She guessed the closest without going over. Awesome! :)

And of course, more than anything, I want to say thank you to everyone for such amazing support. This little business of mine is really making a profound impact on my life. I love it and I love watching it grow. I am also really glad to watch my daughter Veronica grow at the same time. She is the reason I started it and I owe a lot of gratitude to my husband as well. He is indeed my anchor and I would be lost in space without him (I am his kite ;). Even when it is tough I know it is all worth it when I see my daughter smile, laugh, and play. She is learning a lot from me and I am certainly learning a lot from her.

I am very fortunate and grateful.
Thanks so very much everyone. :)
Have a wonderful night and look for some new items coming soon.
Hugs and Loves from the West Woods,
Kim :)
